Product Description 'Why Sandgrens?' You might ask. The answer is simple - clogs are our passion. At Sandgrens, the art of clog making has been passed down through generations, and we take great pride in that. We understand the value of high-quality, natural materials and the difference they make in keeping your feet happy. If you're tired of mass-produced shoes like we are, then you've come to the right place.
We believe in preserving craftsmanship, which is why each of our clogs is handmade at our factory in the forests of Småland, Sweden, using the finest leathers and highest quality wooden bases available. As a result, Sandgrens clogs are designed to be loved and cherished for years to come.
WE ARE TIRED OF MASS-PRODUCTION Handmade At Sandgrens, we believe that making clogs is an art form that should be cherished, which is why we continue to handcraft all our clogs in Sweden.
Natural Materials We believe in using natural materials and designing timeless styles that never go out of fashion.
From Sweden Sandgrens is one of the few remaining clog manufacturers still based in Sweden. We consider this to be something special and we sincerely thank our customers for making it possible.
Unique Each pair of clogs that leaves our factory is completely unique. No two pairs are identical, thanks to the handcrafted expertise of our clog masters.
To break in your new clogs, we recommend wearing them indoors for short periods initially. Gradually increase the wearing time over a few days to allow them to soften and adjust to your feet. If you experience any discomfort initially, wearing socks with your clogs can help. Massaging the leather between wears can also aid in softening it. We advise against wearing your clogs for extended periods before they are properly shaped to your feet, as this can cause unnecessary pain and blisters. Avoid using water or heat sources like hair dryers to speed up the break-in process, as this can damage the leather or ruin your clogs.
CARING FOR YOUR CLOGS: VEGETABLE TANNED LEATHER Vegetable tanned leather is the purest form of tanned leather as it does not contain synthetic coatings. It is tanned using natural materials such as tree bark. Initially, this leather may feel more rigid than other types, but it will soften over time. Note that scars and marks on vegetable tanned leather are not defects but natural characteristics of the living material. You can polish vegetable tanned leather clogs (except the nude color) with shoe polish or clean them with a regular shoe cleaner.
CARING FOR YOUR CLOGS: NUDE VEGETABLE TANNED LEATHER Our nude-colored vegetable tanned leather shares the same characteristics as other colors, with one difference - it darkens over time. With exposure to sunlight, the leather develops a unique, warm color. This darkening is a sign of quality and the natural processes used to make the leather. Please note that the nude leather lacks the same protectant as other vegetable tanned leathers, so avoid using conditioner or protectant sprays that may alter the color.
CARING FOR YOUR CLOGS: NUBUCK LEATHER Nubuck leather is naturally sensitive to water and is not water-resistant. Avoid wearing your nubuck clogs in the rain. Instead, use a horsehair brush regularly to prevent dirt from becoming a permanent stain. For spills, use a cotton cloth to soak up the liquid, and gently use a rubber nubuck brush followed by a horsehair brush to remove stains and dirt. With proper care, your nubuck clogs will last a lifetime.
CARING FOR YOUR CLOGS: WOOD BASE We do not recommend wearing wooden base clogs in heavy rain as the wood can swell. Keep in mind that wood clogs are rigid and will not stretch or bend. Although rigid, wood is fragile and can chip or crack if struck against hard surfaces. If you chip your wood base, you can glue the piece back using regular wood glue or use sandpaper to smooth out the surface. Sandpaper can also be used to remove marks and dirt from the wood.
